SSG Content Producer

Hey there, your fave galaxy conquering e-gamer association here. Spacestation Gaming is looking for a full-time video producer! We are an esports org that competes in games like Halo Infinite, Rainbow 6 Siege, Apex Legends and Rocket League! We also have a robust content creator program and work with partnered companies to crank out some amazing content incorporating our chaotic brand voice and PROWESS.

This position is local to Layton, Utah and is 80% in office, 20% at home.

THE SAUCE (PERSONALITY TRAITS):

Spacestation Gaming isn’t your “run-of-the-mill” place to work. With that being said, there is a need for a high level of attentiveness for team productivity. We need someone to rally the troops and get things done during the day. We have a very creative and robust team of video/photography/graphics nerds at the HQ and making sure their talents are being utilized and pushed forward is crucial.

We need a forward-thinking individual that is conscious of team needs before they are needed in the moment. Predicting possible fires and putting them out before they even have a chance to happen is absolutely necessary with this role!

At SSG you’ll not only have the opportunity to make quality and chaotic content, but you’ll also have the opportunity to work with some of our robust partnerships and build relationships beyond SSG itself. Having the ability to flex between projects at the drop of a hat is crucial in this role. You will bridge the gap between many partnerships and our content team as a support for our project managers.

I feel like this goes without saying but good social skills and communication is critical in this role! Not just because we want to get to know you as an individual but in order to do this role correctly, you’ll need to be transparent and clear about many aspects of worklife.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

We need a script-to-screen producer, so you should be proficient in all aspects of video production: scriptwriting, working up call sheets, searching for casting, location scouting/scheduling, creating a set schedule and all those other producer themed roles.Videography experience including (but not limited to) —  audio, lighting, video editing, motion graphics and some VFX abilities are a bonus! With that being said, you will have plenty of opportunity to flex some creative muscles and help with the artistic side of production as well where necessary. This role is about 80% managerial and 20% creative.

PROJECT CONNECTION:

Be involved with understanding the creative objective of each project here at SSG. We work with a variety of teams, personalities, products and partnerships — each of which requires a different approach and set of emotional goals. The coolest thing about working here is you don’t need to be perfect in your approach or even the final product. We would sometimes much rather have a fun piece of content that may flop on social media than a perfectly fine-tuned oscar worthy film. Making judgment calls on the fly with the best result possible in order to save time and resources will always work out better for us in general. Finding quick and meaningful solutions to problems and conflicts in larger scale projects is important to this role.
